چکیده

• Imaging detects the cause of death in a majority deceased dogs and cats. Conventional necropsies are not competed; however, they can be simplified supplemented. In cases space-occupying lesions trauma, imaging finds causes most reliably. with systemic inflammatory disease, it is difficult for to arrive at correct diagnosis. Post mortem (PM) examination euthanized or individual animals herd important clarify forensic cases, confirm clinical diagnosis, improve future therapeutic approaches. The aim this descriptive study evaluate PM by CT MRI (VetVirtopsy) compare results conventional necropsy. Hundred cats (47 dogs, 53 cats) different age, breed, body weight from Small Animal Clinic University Zurich underwent VetVirtopsy followed necropsy histologic investigators unblinded VetVirtopsy. All were examined whole (PMCT), 31 them also (PMMRI) selected regions. findings compared pathology report as gold standard. 81% detected death. agreement was high trauma space occupying low diseases. produced 336 (Median: 3, Min: 1, Max: 11) additional multiple organs. strengths supporting lie detection lesions. Advantageous detailed overview, whereby relevance must remain focus. could very helpful without owner consent dissection. events, disease discrete, morphologic changes, contagious, zoonotic would need imaging-guided specimen sampling.

Lung Lesions Biopsy in Children by Computed Tomography (CT) Fluoroscopy Guided Versus Conventional CT Scan Guided

Abstract Background Computed tomography (CT)-guided biopsy of the lung is a well-established method of diagnosis. The aim of this study was to determine the success rate of fluoroscopic CT (FCT) and conventional CT (CCT) in needle navigation biopsies from the lung lesions. Materials and Methods A total of 78 patients were prospectively enrolled to receive CT-guided biopsy with (group I, n=2...

Obliterative bronchiolitis with atypical features: CT scan and necropsy findings.

We describe the natural history of cryptogenic bronchiolitis obliterans in a patient followed for 24 yrs with serial pulmonary function tests and radiology. Severe, progressive airway obstruction developed, with overinflation but preservation of KCO. There was progressive hypoxaemia, which worsened on exertion; hypercapnoea was modest until late in the illness. Neither bronchodilators nor stero...

Cytodiagnosis and the necropsy.

AIMS To assess the efficacy of cytodiagnosis in necropsy practice. METHODS Fifty three focal lesions from 46 necropsies were assessed by direct smears taken from the lesions. The smears were air-dried and stained by a modified Giemsa technique, with two cases having supplementary histochemistry. All of the slides were assessed independently before review of the necropsy histology. RESULTS O...

An assessment of the Doses Received by Children from CT Examinations Along with the QC Parameters from a Conventional CT System

Introduction: In 2000, the UNSCEAR reported that CT constitutes 5% of all the medical x-ray  examinations and it contributes 34% of the resultant collective dose worldwide. Children are more  sensitive to the ionizing radiations than adults. So, routine quality control tests are expected to be  carried out periodically on the CT scanners. The aim of this research was to estimate the effective  ...
